Twitter has a problem: Its platform is overrun by bad actors and misinformation, as exemplified by the social media service’s most famous power user, Donald Trump. Because everyone — from the conspiracy-peddling president of the United States to troll armies of foreign powers to random spewers of vitriol — is able to roam free on Twitter, the company has become perpetually implicated in everything terrible that transpires on the platform, tarnishing its public image.
