Survival Guides for an Uncertain Future: Kevin Roose and Ethan Zuckerman Envision What Will Be | Center for Brooklyn History & Brooklyn Public Library

April 6 @ 6:30 pm

If the speed that the world is changing makes you want to crawl into a cave, if you fret over the impact of technology, the fracturing of democratic institutions, the future of humanity, then Kevin Roose and Ethan Zuckerman have ideas you want to hear. Roose, technology columnist for the New York Times, has a vision for surviving our ever-accelerating technology onslaught with our jobs—and souls—intact, as articulated in his latest book “Futureproof.” Zuckerman, professor of public policy, information and communication at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, presents a roadmap for transformative, positive social change and civic engagement in his book “Mistrust.” These two big thinkers on the future compare notes, exchange theories, and question each other about what’s to come.
