Stand with the Facts: Community Solutions to Combat Misinformation | KUOW & the Center for an Informed Public on

July 21, 2020 4:00 pm

With so much information being shared online and on social media during the pandemic and  protests, how do we weed out the misinformation from the facts in our newsfeeds? Is it possible to improve access to reliable sources? What ways can we rethink information distribution to stop the spread of misinformation? And what kinds of local programs and services are communities creating to respond to today’s information overload?

Join KUOW and the Center for an Informed Public on Tuesday, July 21 at 1 p.m. PST on KUOW’s YouTube channel and Facebook for Stand with the Facts: Community Solutions to Combat Misinformation. KUOW’s All Things Considered host Kim Malcolm will be joined by Chris Coward, co-founder and principal investigator for the Center for an Informed Public and senior principal research scientist at UW’s Information School, and Lisa G. Rosenblum, executive director of the King County Library System to discuss ways we can rethink information distribution in an effort to stop misinformation from spreading.
