Health Information Apps to Counter Misinformation, Disinformation, and Fake News

The internet, especially social media, is notorious for disseminating political and social narratives that create a complex information landscape, making it difficult to distinguish between misinformation, disinformation, and fake news. Librarians should take an active role in combating these barriers to fact-based information by educating their patrons about misinformation, disinformation, and fake news and by suggesting reliable and unbiased mobile apps that provide accurate, science-based information.
