Global Fact 6

“For the sixth year running, the Global Fact-Checking Summit (Global Fact) will bring together fact-checkers, journalists, scholars, and representatives of tech platforms, as well as other professionals and students interested in this form of journalism.
Global Fact is a practitioner’s conference: Participants come to share their experiences and learn about best practices to implement in their own work.
Global Fact 6 will take place in South Africa, at the University of Cape Town’s New Lecture Theatre, from June 19-21, 2019. This will be the first time that Global Fact will be held on the African continent.
Global Fact 6 will address some of the most important issues in fact-checking and misinformation, including:
- Impact and reach of fact-checking.
- Misinformation on different platforms.
- Monetization and revenue sources.
- New formats for fact-checking.
- Acceleration and automation of the fact-checking process.
The International Fact-Checking Network will host Global Fact 6 in partnership with Africa Check, a global leader in fact-checking. It is made possible thanks to funding from Craig Newmark Philanthropies, the Duke Reporters’ Lab, Luminate and the Open Society Foundations.”
