Families divided over COVID-19 misinformation from conflicting news sources | ABC News

If you have ever engaged in heated debates with your family members about COVID-19 and vaccines, you’re not alone.

As Australia’s vaccine rollout moves through Phase 1B for the broader public, some families have found themselves divided over the safety of vaccines and whether or not they want to be inoculated.

The issue can be exacerbated by family members who don’t speak English or may only be reading blogs or social media from international sources.

That was the case for Shirlaine Tse, who had her first argument with her mother about the coronavirus pandemic over the dinner table last year.
