WHITE COATS TAKE ON THE WHITE HOUSE ONLINE: Doctors, nurses and other health care workers were active on Twitter and other social media long before the pandemic. But the coronavirus crisis has super-charged how they use tech to communicate far more directly with the public.

They are not just educating and informing people about the crisis dragging down their own hospitals and communities, or about the best ways to avoid catching or spreading the virus. They using Twitter to deliver truth serum, offering an often bleak cyber-realism that contrasts with President Donald Trump’s rosy assessments of Covid-19. And more of them are joining in.
