Data & Society Research Institute is seeking an engaging and collaborative Research Analyst to support the work of the Disinformation Action Lab (DAL).
The role of Research Analyst, DAL is a full-time, non-exempt position and reports directly to the Project Lead, DAL. This position is ideal for an early career researcher and writer. It’s a role for someone who enjoys shaping and supporting a body of practical research and analysis that helps solve public problems and build the capacity of key organizations.
The candidate will have deep knowledge of the problem of disinformation — the actors, their ideologies, and their tactics — and the ability to write about it clearly and concisely on short deadlines. They will also have experience in tracking online disinformation and inauthentic amplification networks. They enjoy thinking strategically about what is needed for research to be useful, relevant, and accessible. Preferred candidates should show an ability to synthesize complex information for any audience, familiarity with social media analytics and monitoring tools, and an affinity for coalition work. They are excited about working in a fast-moving team and prioritizing learning and iteration over perfectionism.
