Contact: Mrs. Ornella Sciuto (recruit@oii.ox.ac.uk)

Deadline: August 30, 2018

The Oxford Internet Institute (OII) is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant. The post will entail working on a project titled “Creative Algorithmic Intelligence (CAI): Capabilities and Complementarity”. The successful candidate will contribute to this mixed method project through literature reviews, workshops with stakeholders and carrying our in-depth interviews and case-studies of particular domains where CAI is and will be applied.

The project represents an interdisciplinary collaboration with Professor Michael A Osborne (PI) at the Department of Engineering Science. The project will make use of mixed methods, using machine learning techniques underpinned by robust and rich qualitative data to study the complementarity of creative algorithmic intelligence to workplace tasks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the qualitative phases of work, reporting to Professor Rebecca Eynon, and will work closely with another postdoctoral team member based in the Department of Engineering Science.

Based in the heart of Oxford, this is a full-time fixed-term position for 15 months, in the first instance.
